#GivingTuesday

On Tuesday, December 1, 2015, METAvivor is participating in #GivingTuesday, a global day dedicated to giving. On this day, charities, families, businesses, community centers, and students around the world will come together for one common purpose: to celebrate generosity and to give.

By participating in #GivingTuesday, we hope to raise vital funds to support grants for metastatic breast cancer research.

Why support METAvivor on #GivingTuesday?

• Because 30% of men and women who are diagnosed with early stage breast cancer will eventually metastasize, resulting in more than 40,000 deaths each year in the United States from breast cancer;
• Because only 2%-3% of funds raised for breast cancer research is focused on research for the already metastasized patient—and we advocate that 30% of funds should be spent on this vital research;
• Because we are doing critical work to raise awareness of the importance of funding research for Stage IV breast cancer;
• Because we fund research to help improve the quality of and extend the lives of people with metastatic breast cancer.

METAvivor is the only organization in the United States that exclusively funds MBC research through a scientific peer-review process involving metastasis researchers, MBC oncologists, and patient advocates. Since 2009, we have awarded 26 MBC research grants totaling over $1,800,000. We have come very far—but we still have far to go. Your support will help us continue to make progress, and 100% of donations go directly to research.
