I am so excited to share our Sea to Sea for MBC update with you!

You may have already heard of Sea to Sea for MBC (C2C), since plans have been brewing for quite some time. METAvivor will be hitting the road this spring in a cross-country trip, learning from our researchers, meeting with our supporters, visiting with patients, and educating communities.

Our caravan will launch with a Kick-Off Party from our “home” in Annapolis, Maryland on April 12. Over the course of six weeks, we will travel across America, generating much-needed attention for MBC.  Our trip will focus on:

Support - Where possible, we are looking forward to meeting with patients and visiting cancer centers. We hope to connect directly with those who are living with MBC, to hear and help them tell their stories. We hope to feature a patient, caregiver, family member or medical professional at our events or in the media in each of the cities we visit so that people begin to hear about the real-life experiences of living with, treating and dying from MBC.

Research - To date, METAvivor has awarded 14 research grants. C2C will visit each of our grantees to see how they have put your donations to work for the benefit of patients. At each stop we will have a lab visit and meet with the research team involved in the original or current study. Some of these studies will just be launching, while others have moved beyond the "bench" and are starting to make their way to drug approval.

Awareness - We will attend dozens of events hosted by supporters in their homes and communities, with the goal of educating people about the reality of MBC, raising funds for further research, and expanding our network.

An Invitation

We will soon be publishing our final itinerary, and if you live along the route, we hope you’ll join us for some of the events and festivities!
