SATURDAY, JULY 31st: Shopping and Lunch at the Historic Savage Mill - 8600 Foundry Street, Savage, MD 20763. 10:30 am to 2:00 pm.
Meet at 10:30 am in front of the Rams Head Restaurant at Savage Mill so that we can explore together ... or explore separately and meet at the Rams Head Restaurant again at 12:00 noon for lunch. Savage Mill has a wide variety of shops including a large antique mall ... it's a very fun place to roam! Carpool from Annapolis or join us there. (Partners are welcome to join us.) MONDAY, AUGUST 30th: Time to be arranged. Location: Frederick MD. Felted Soap Making Project ! This is a real treat being offered by member Katy McRae.
Some of you have undoubtedly seen the wonderfully scented, beautiful-to-look at felted soaps made and donated by member Katy McRae to sell at our fundraisers. Katy is offering to teach a small group how to make the soaps. Participants must bring with them 20 bars soap each ( Katy recommends "Dove"). Katy will supply the wool. The finished product will be donated to METAvivor for fundraising, though I'm sure each participant will be able to pick one or two favorites to take home. Only a few people can work at the same time, so the project is limited to three participants. This will be done on a first come/first serve basis so get your name in early! OCTOBER 13th: METAvivor's Meet the Authors' Luncheon and Silent Auction at the Chartwell Country Club in Severna Park - Tentative time, 10:00am 'til 1:30 pm (call to confirm). A wonderful way to celebrate Metastatic Breast Cancer Awareness Day and raise funds for METAvivor!
There will be 6 to 7 local authors who write cookbooks, children's books, mysteries, young adult books, health books, gardening, etc. Tthe authors will be available to sign their books and participate in a panel discussion. Items for sale are: bookmarks, METAvivior-related products (shirts, scarfs, pins, etc.), eyeglass holders, soaps, and of course authors' books!
Events are:
- Silent auction
- Delicious luncheon
**The cost is about $50 benefiting research funds for metastatic breast cancer researchers.
Needed:
