This was Metavivor's first annual triathalon race held on Saturday, April 17th, 2010. These were just a few of the comments shared after the event...

“Kudos to the race director”

“That was the perfect race!!!”

“Tons of enthusiastic support, well marked, very scenic routes, excellent flow…I loved that race”.

“We all had a great time, and are looking forward to the 2011 METAvivor race.”

This triathalon race, which included a 1-mile kayak, 17.1 mile bike and 3.1 mile run, was held in downtown Annapolis, MD. Yes, the day may have been a bit windy, but that did not deter any of the participants or any of the volunteers. Just watching the kayaks in the water with the sunrise shimmering down on them was a treat. What a way to start the day!!!

And, we did have some winners:

First Place Male/First Place Overall:
Mike Berry from Annapolis, a member of the Annapolis Tri Club

First Place Female/Fourth Place Overall:
Kerri Robbins from Davidsonville, a member of the Annapolis Tri Club and a nationally ranked triathlete

But, the real winner in my opinion was our own stage IV Metavivor, Debbie Gurley. Debbie took part in the whole competition and was one of the finishers! What a feeling of exhilaration I had seeing her cross the finish line.

Stay tuned since we will be confirming a date for next year’s event real soon. And I predict that the number of participants will more than double.
