The holiday season is around the corner! What happens after Thanksgiving, Black Friday and Cyber Monday?

#GivingTuesday, an annual, global day dedicated to charitable giving.

On Tuesday, November 29, 2016, METAvivor will participate in #GivingTuesday, a day where people around the world will come together for one common purpose: to celebrate generosity and to give.

Why support METAvivor on #GivingTuesday?

  • Because 30% of men and women who are diagnosed with early stage breast cancer will eventually metastasize, resulting in more than 40,000 deaths each year in the United States from breast cancer;
  • Because only 2%-3% of funds raised for breast cancer research is focused on research for the already metastasized patient;
  • Because your donation will help us fund research to improve the quality and extend the lives of people with metastatic breast cancer;
  • Because 100% of your donation will go to research.

How can you give?

1. Make a Cash Donation: Make a monetary donation to METAvivor by donating online.

2. Give Securities: METAvivor can also accept gifts of securities (stocks, bonds, etc.). When you donate securities, you will receive gift credit and an immediate income tax deduction for the fair market value of the securities on the date of the transfer, no matter what you originally paid for them. In addition, you will pay no capital gains tax on the securities donated. Please email Lisa Schofield for more information.

METAvivor does not give tax or legal advice, and you should consult your tax advisor for guidance.

3. Make a Planned Gift: A planned gift is any major gift (cash, securities, or other investment vehicles), made in lifetime or at death as part of a donor’s overall financial and/or estate planning. Please email Lisa Schofield for more information about how you can make a planned gift to METAvivor.

Since our founding in 2009, METAvivor has awarded 33 research grants totaling over $2.4 million, and we are the only national organization with a peer-reviewed grant program aimed at exclusively funding MBC research.

We have come very far—but we still have far to go. Your support will help us continue to make progress. Thank you!
