We are pleased to announce that METAvivor has been selected to receive a portion of the proceeds from the first-month sales of the new book, “Cards for Brianna: A Mom’s Messages of Living, Laughing, and Loving as Time Is Running Out (Sourcebooks, April 2016), by Heather McManamy and coauthor William Croyle.   The book is a life-affirming memoir by Heather McManamy, a young Wisconsin mother who died of metastatic breast cancer in December 2015.

Heather McManamy, who was originally diagnosed with stage 2 cancer in April 2013 at thirty-six-years-old, was told the following year that her diagnosis was terminal. She began writing greeting cards to her four-year-old daughter Brianna to share advice and celebrate all of the significant moments she would experience in her life: the first day of school, birthdays, her wedding day, and even the birth of her first child.  Cards for Brianna brings all of the cards together in a book that is a powerful message of love from the young mother to her daughter.

Cards for Brianna will be released for sale on April 12th.   Jeff McManamy, Heather’s husband said, “With 100 percent of donations going to research, METAvivor is an organization that is truly bringing us closer to a cure. I believe this organization will have a hand in seeing that one day more little girls, like Brianna, don't grow up without their mother.”

You can purchase a copy of Cards for Brianna at Amazon.com, Barnes and Noble, or at other bookstores nationally. For more information on how you can get a signed bookplate from Brianna McManamy, please visit http://www.sourcebooks.com/store/cards-for-brianna.html.
